The Multi-Materials Stewardship Board’s (MMSB) Household Hazardous Waste
(HHW) program has existed since 1998. Unwanted pharmaceuticals can be disposed
of at a MMSB-sponsored HHW day. These events are scheduled every year. The program
provides safe hazardous waste collection (including medications) for participating
municipalities, raising awareness among the general public about HHW issues,
and helps establish progressive waste management partnerships with participating

Information for the Public
In addition to providing the public with safe disposal services for HHW, the
program also raises awareness about the appropriate disposal of HHWs. Pharmaceuticals
from residents only are accepted under the program as collection events are
for residents only.
